Last Mile & Fulfillment (FTTH/FTTP)

National OnDemand's Last Mile team connects the network to the customer's door, bridging the final connection between our clients' fiber networks and the homes and businesses they serve. We manage the complete fulfillment process, from service order dispatch and drop placement through premise wiring, ONT installation, and customer support. We finish the job on-site, and we make sure it feels easy for the customer from day one.

Our crews often represent our clients' brands as much as our own, so they show up with humility, professionalism, and pride. Some customers know their way around technology and others don't, which is why our technicians explain new equipment clearly and never rush the process. That matters because the last mile is where subscribers form their opinion of the entire network, and where a missed appointment or a careless install turns into a support call. With a service-first mindset behind every visit, National OnDemand is the direct link between our clients' customers and the network they now depend on.

National OnDemand Drops & Installs

Drops & Installs

National OnDemand's Last Mile team treats every drop and install with care, working with precision and respecting the customer's property at every step. We place aerial drops from the pole to the home and buried drops by plowing, trenching, or boring, matching each method to the site and the client's specifications. Our crews call in utility locates before digging and keep customers in the loop the whole time.

The drop is the part of the build customers see every day, and it shapes their view of the provider. When we bury cable, we try to leave lawns and landscaping the way we found them, and our crews restore the site whenever they can. Every drop is tested before we leave, so our clients are sure to get a working connection, and not a callback. National OnDemand delivers drops and installs that build trust between the customer and the network provider.

Premise Wiring

Our Premise Wiring services carry the connection from the point where fiber enters the building to the rooms where the customer actually uses it. We route fiber and Ethernet cabling through walls, attics, crawl spaces, and existing pathways, placing outlets and equipment where they serve the customer best rather than wherever the drop happens to land.

Clean premise wiring separates a professional install from one the customer merely tolerates, and it is often the detail they remember most. Our technicians plan each route with the homeowner or site contact before drilling, conceal cabling wherever the structure allows, and protect finished surfaces throughout the job. For commercial buildings, multi-tenant properties, and data center environments, our Structured Cabling team extends that same discipline across complete inside plant systems. National OnDemand delivers premise wiring that looks as reliable as it performs.

National OnDemand Network Device / ONT Installation

Network Device / ONT Installation

The optical network terminal is where fiber service becomes usable, converting the light signal into the connection every device in the home depends on. Our Network Device / ONT Installation services cover mounting and powering the ONT, installing routers, mesh Wi-Fi systems, and battery backup units where our clients specify them, and confirming activation with our clients' provisioning teams before we leave the site.

Our crews don't just hook up the service. They verify speeds, confirm Wi-Fi coverage throughout the home, and walk customers through their new equipment step by step, so it makes sense from day one. Every installation follows our clients' equipment standards, and every device is recorded against the service order so inventory stays accurate. National OnDemand ensures each installation is working, verified, and understood before our technicians move on to the next customer.

Service Order Dispatch

Every installation begins well before a technician arrives, and a missed appointment costs our clients both revenue and customer goodwill. Our Service Order Dispatch services manage the flow of work from order receipt through completion, scheduling appointments, routing technicians efficiently across the service area, and matching each job to a crew with the right skills and materials.

We confirm appointments with customers in advance and communicate proactively when plans change on the day of service. Order status flows back to our clients, so their teams always know where each installation stands. Orders that cannot be completed on the first visit, whether because of access issues, incomplete make-ready, or damaged plant, are documented and escalated rather than left to stall. With a focus on accountability and first-visit completion, National OnDemand keeps our clients' install queues moving and their customers informed.

National OnDemand Customer Support

Customer Support

National OnDemand's Last Mile team helps customers make a smooth switch to new fiber service. Our technicians are skilled at working directly with customers, explaining new equipment clearly, answering questions with patience, and acting as an extension of our clients' brands in every interaction.

Most of our support happens on-site, face to face with the customer. But we've also run support call centers for clients who need that option, handling the questions that follow a new installation so our clients' own teams can stay focused on growing their networks. Whether a customer needs help with Wi-Fi coverage, a follow-up visit, or simple reassurance that everything is working as expected, we respond with the same care our crews bring to every home. If your project calls for tailored call center support, we're glad to talk through what that could look like.

Case Study

National OnDemand played a vital role in addressing the challenges faced by Northcentral Electric Cooperative in their fiber network build-out. With a skilled and responsive workforce, National ensured that both overhead and underground work met Northcentral’s rigorous standards for safety, timeliness, and quality. Their crews expertly handled the complexities of the project, from mainline construction through to the final phases of splicing and drop installations, ensuring the project stayed on schedule and met the cooperative’s high expectations.
